Shrine Vailankanni

               Eucharist Procession will be conducted around the Shrine in the evening followed by special sermon and Benediction from the front elevation of the Upper Basilica.

                As in every month, Our Lady´s Car procession will be conducted at 05.30 p.m. along the beach road followed by Blessing of the Sick with the Eucharist. Benediction and Mass in Tamil. A three-hour Eucharist Adoration will be conducted in the main Shrine from 09.00 p.m. to 12.00 midnight.

               The youth day was celebrated at the Shrine on 7th August 2011 at 5 p.m. The members of "Annai Youth Movement", the Vailankanni parish youth association, organized the liturgy. After the Mass, the youth were prayed over and blessed by the Assistant Parish Priest, Rev Fr. Suresh.

               His Excellency our Bishop Most Rev. Dr. M. Devadass Ambrose visited the Shrine on 8th August at 4 pm. He presided over the blessing and opening ceremonies of the Multi-purpose Hall at Vailankanni.

               The Ordination Day of Very Rev. Fr. A. Micheal, Rector of Shrine Basilica of Our Lady of Health Vailankanni, was celebrated on 9th August 2011. Rev. Fr. Rector presided over the concelebrated Eucharist celebration at the Main Shrine at 6 am. All the Priests and Sisters serving at Vailankanni, came together, prayed for him and felicitated him.

               Very Rev.Fr.A. Michael the Rector of the Shrine will hoist the National Flag in the front campus of the Fathers´ Residence. In view of the Assumption, Feast Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady´s Tank chapel church at 5.45 p.m. followed by Our Lady´s car procession in the holy path and benediction in the Lower Basilica.

               Inauguration of the great Annual Feast of Vailankanni. The flag of Our Lady of Health will be taken in a procession which starts from the entrance of the Shrine at 06.00 p.m., proceeding in the beach road. At the end of the procession, the flag will be blessed and hoisted by His Excellency the Bishop of Thanjavur Most Rev.Dr. M. Devadass Ambrose. The inauguration will be followed by Benediction and by special Mass in Tamil in the Shrine Kalaiyarangam. The grand Annual Feast of Vailankanni will be celebrated on the usual dates from 29th August to 8th September.
