Blessed Mother´s Curative Powers

The majestic enthronement of Our Blessed Mother on the altar of our Shrine Basilica, Vailankanni, is a sheer witness to the foretold visionary statements of St. John in the book of Revelation 12/1 which states, “A great portent appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and on her head a crown of twelve stars”. Mary our mother who played the role to be an instrument of our salvation did not think that her business was over immediately after giving birth to Jesus. More happily she continued her mission with great love for her children who were entrusted to her by her Son Jesus Christ on the mount calvary.

Let me more concretely place before you only two of the incidents in which our Blessed Mother played a more vital role in saving the persons in their life struggle whom I met here in Vailankanni after taking charge as Parish Priest of Vailankanni.

Fact 1

There was a woman who met here at the time of leaving Vailankanni after her two – day stay in this holy land. I asked her casually what the purpose of her pilgrimage to the Shrine was. She replied that she came here to thank the Blessed Mother for the many favours she had received from Our Lady of Health. I asked her whether she had any particular intention made to the Mother. I was really surprised to hear from her that she had no time to place any petitions to the Mother of Vailankanni since she had shortage of time to thank the gracious Mother for the abundant graces obtained from her.

This is a crystal clear proof of the Lord´s word that “I shall pour forth eternal life like a river”.

Fact 2

One Mr. John was doing a big business in Dubai before some years and he was here a few days ago. He said that he had been deceived by the one whom he had trusted very much. He lost more than 60 million and now he is living in Cochin. Bursting out of his emotion he said, “if at all myself and my family members are still alive today, it´s because of our Blessed Mother. The faith and devotion I have in our Blessed Mother all along my life has saved us from great loss of our life. Yes, Father, it´s time for me to be a witness to my devotion to Our Lady of Health”. More firmly John said, “Never in my life I failed to recite my rosary before starting any work after getting up in the morning”. It is due to this fervent devotion which I keep on practicing that I have regained new life now. As ever before, without having even a single thought of grief over the loss of my business I carry on my new venture everyday. John is presently working in a reputed business concern and his life is quite normal as it was in the past.

This incident is a realization of the words of the Lord, “My love for you will never change even if mountains fall and peaks move, “Is. 51:10”

I have narrated these two facts which took place recently. There are numerous such incidents we find in the lives of devotees of the Mother of Vailankanni. The Mother of Vailankanni continues to do miracles in the lives of her devotees transcending the limitations of caste, creed, language and region. The miracles experienced in the life of thousands of devotees, speak volumes of the love and mercy of the Mother of Health who loves the entire mankind.
