Our heavenly Father, we adore you and praise you. It was in your boundless mercy and love for us that you deigned your Son to be born as man. Your Son our Lord Jesus Christ gave Mary His mother as our Mother at the foot of the cross. We thank you Father for the most precious and unparalleled gift of Mary as our Mother. We thank you Father for having called us now to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the Basilica which had been first built by the portuguese sailors who had been saved in the 17th century by Mary. She is most affectionately hailed as Arokia Madha for her apparition to the milk-boy and for curing the lame buttermilk vendor in the 16th century.
During this Golden Jubilee Year, we beseech you, Our Heavenly Father to bless all those Bishops, Priests, Nuns and benefactors who dedicated their life for the progress of the Shrine basilica and bore witness to your love through their ministries to millions of pilgrims who thronged this shrine down these four centuries.
We plead you Our Heavenly Father, to bless all those who pray fervently during this year of Golden Jubilee by their Physical presence here in the Basilica or at their home. Bless them with love, faith, health, joy, peace and grant their special and urgent needs through our Lady of Good Health, vailankanni.
Bless with great Success all those who strive for the continued progress of this Shine Basilica and for the spiritual and temporal growth of all devotees.
As the Basilica is stepping into its Golden Jubilee Year on 3rd November 2011, we feel privileged to celebrate this golden year.
Our most dear Heavenly Father, bless us through our Mother of vailankanni that we may
become strengthened in our faith and obtain all the benefits of the indulgences during this Golden Year of the Basilica of Vailankanni Shirine. Amen.
